Wayne Pflum has been a firefighter in South Florida for over 17years.  When his oldest son Jake was diagnosed with diabetes, Wayne and his wife Melissa began to learn all they could about nutrition and vitamin supplements.  They quickly became loyal customers of Total Nutrition, their neighborhood vitamin shop in Weston.

Jake, an avid Miami Heat fan learned of his diabetes about the same time his favorite player Alonzo Mourning was diagnosed with a kidney ailment.  The two began corresponding and after years of letter writing, the two pen pals finally met during the recent cover shoot of "954 Magazine".  What Jake remembered most about meeting with his hero, was how Alonzo thanked him for his letters.

Four years ago, the Pflums learned that Total Nutrition was for sale and jumped at the chance to own the store that helped them so much.

They believed that their new knowledge and personal experience made this store a perfect fit for them.  Wayne and Melissa take great pride in the family atmosphere of their store and truly enjoy getting to know and help each individual customer.  The customers enjoy knowing that Wayne or Melissa will always be there to find products that are right for them.  They even offer free local delivery, mail order, and are currently in the process of developing a website.

Everyone shops at Total Nutrition from senior citizens to teenagers like their own son, who credits products from their store for his great health.  They also cater to sports nutrition and you can frequently see many members of the Florida Panthers hockey team as well as student athletes from Cypress Bay High School, proudly sponsored by Total Nutrition.  Wayne and Melissa know their clients are their neighbors and they are supporting their community as much as their community is supporting them.
